Why shall I prefer Woodlandia Log Lathe over other competitive log lathes?

Any log lathe intended to produce house logs is 5-10 times slower than a log through-pass types of profiles (for instance, Woodlandia RLM machines) so if one chosses to buy a log lathe then the question would be: "what are criterias to choose the log lathe?". Please take in consideration following arguments:​

  • Capabilities → Woodlandia LL-41.600 is robotic Log Home Milling Center capable to mill 600mm (24") dia logs. LL-700 can accommodate logs up to 27" in diameter. Woodlandia LL-41 is capable to be same effective (and sometimes even more effective and capable) than more expensive and sophisticated competitive log lathe machines. In the developed countries where wages are higher the time spent for milling logs is crucial for the profitability as more time the log milling takes - less profitable is the business. So automation of operations is very helpful to decrease dependency on labour. Woodlandia LL-41.600 and LL-700 are robotic machines.
  • Throughput → Woodlandia Log Lathes are faster or can work with the same speed as 99% of competitive products. Woodlandia LL-41 throughput is about 1 20ft (6m) long log every 30 minutes (if the manufactiring process is organized effectively) what is an everage speed of any log lathe milling long logs with the Swedish cope and notches.

The lathe is "4 in 1" machine able to perform 4 following operations on logs:

  • logs debarking/turning: max log length: 26½ ft (8.1m), it can be extended by 8ft (2.5m) extra frame sections, max diameter: 19½" (500mm)
  • grooving (Swedish cope style only): width range from 6¼" to 12½" (160-320mm)
  • notching (Round notch): diameter range from 6¼" to 12½" (160-320mm)
  • kerfing: circular saw blade diameter 300mm, bore 30mm
